Introducing a most wonderful piece for your country home – a French cast iron wood burner.
Crafted by Godin makers in Guise, France circa 1890, this wood heater is made from heavy and robust cast iron. It features a decorative crown top which opens to reveal the protected lid which can be opened to give out more heat or add air to your fire. The wood heater is further decorated with mustard ceramic tile which is in wonderful condition, and antique green and black paintwork.
There is space at the rear to easily connect a flu. All doors and hinges are fantastic for the age.
The Godin cast iron foundry from Guise, north west of Paris, has been manufacturing cast iron stoves, cookers, ranges, fires, and other products since 1840. They are one of Europes oldest and most respected makers and are still as popular today as ever.
