Australia's premier Antique and Art destination
Valentine's Antique Gallery is a 3rd generation Antique business and has been in operation for 77 years. Like his Father and Grandfather before him, our owner Peter Valentine is a passionate advocate for The Arts and history, and lives and breathes the wonder of Fine Antiques and Art on a daily basis.
With our extensive expertise and vast range, we proudly stand as one of the premier Antique Dealers in Australia. We have a strong commitment to giving our valued customers authentic and quality pieces that become timeless family heirlooms for generations to come.
Visit our showroom and gallery to discover that we are more than just an antique store! As members of Bendigo Tourism, we are a unique tourist destination that offers visitors a chance to explore our stunning heritage listed building, and discover an incredible range of local art from the View St. Artist Collective. We also have an Antiques Centre showcasing different Dealers, an onsite café, events spaces, and self contained accommodation.
Valentines Antiques Building
Housing our vast collection of antiques and art, the Sandhurst Trustees building was designed by renowned Goldfields Architect William Vahland. Constructed in 1858, the building was Bendigo's first post office, and later became home to the Sandhurst Trustees. Our owner Peter Valentine, is only the third custodian of this magnificent building, and he is delighted to be able to share it with the public.
Antiques Centre
Our Antiques Centre houses cabinets with wares from specialist Antique Dealers from across Australia. We have specialists in silver, jewellery, porcelain, Art Nouveau, Asian antiques, and militaria. If you are an antique dealer and would like to enquire about renting a cabinet in our Antiques Centre, please contact us.
View St. Artist Collective
This creative hub features seven contemporary Artists in residence known as the View St. Artist Collective. Each Artist has their own showroom/studio space where their works are available for purchase. Come in, chat with the Artists about their work, and buy a custom artwork for your home. Some also sell prints, greeting cards, calendars, and giftware.
Events Spaces
Our incredible heritage building incorporates a series of events spaces such as an outdoor laneway, boardroom, and lounge, which are available to hire for photo shoots, corporate parties, wine tastings, or special events. Please contact us for enquiries regarding our available spaces.
