Introducing an exceptional mantle clock crafted in France circa 1815.
This beautiful early piece is one for lovers of all things French. The clock is made in the Empire style, and features many incredible details and embellishments which tell a tale of history. A Grecian woman stands to the right side, and on the left is a shield, sword, wreath, trident, and wheat, which probably depict a bounty bought back from overseas exploration. Crowning the top is a cornucopia which symbolises abundance and nourishment.
The base of the clock shows an ancient scene of two women and a Greek warrior.
The pendulum in this magnificent clock is held with a silk suspension and the dial is adorned with black hands and numerals.
A wonderful addition to your home, this piece becomes an heirloom for generations to come.
